Johann Henrich was born in Westhofen in 1702.[1]
Johann Henrich and his brother Johann Wilhelm inherited half of the Schabenmühle (Schaben Mill) from their mother when she died in 1735. Their father had taken on a partner by 1707 so they then owned just half of the mill. Unfortunately Johann Henrich died in 1735[2] a few months after his mother so his inheritance went to his brother.[3] His death may have been a result of disease spread by French soldiers quartering in Westhofen during the war. According to an entry in the death register of the Reformed Church of Westhofen, "Late in the year 1734, 1200 French soldiers took quarters in Westhofen. Many diseases raged among them and our people became infected too. The soldiers lived in our houses and even our school was occupied by 12 dragoon. In the year 1735, 94 of our people died because of disease."
